The year started quietly, with our first event being Mothering Sunday. During the service, we were encouraged to place daffodils in the Memory Vase.     Our friends who had moved away, John and Maggie Cheadle, surprised us with a visit.     April,      For Easter, we held a Prayer Walk, encouraging people to stop at various stations. The Band also played on the Triangle on Sunday. We hosted a CTIF Post-Lent Supper to raise funds for Motor Neurone Disease.      May.      During May, we held a service dedicated to Candidates Sunday.      Thomas Rutherford celebrated receiving his Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award.      Children received a copy of Do Great Things for God to celebrate Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee.      Gemma Saxton and Jo Cracknell attended a Godly Play course and demonstrated practical ways of teaching children.   June      Friends Together held a tea to celebrate the Platinum Jubilee.       We also celebrated Father’s Day with a lively meeting led by Paul Rivett.     July.      This was a very busy month with a change of officers.       We said farewell to Majors David and Katerina Lennox, who moved to Clacton, and welcomed Captains Paul and Lizette Williams from Basildon.     We also held a very successful Holiday Club.     September.     We celebrated Harvest Sunday with the usual displays and gifts of food.     A CTIF Songs of Praise was held.      As part of the Heritage Weekend, the Hall was opened to the public to view displays about the history of the Hall and the Salvation Army.      As part of the Proclamation for King Charles III, the Band played at the Town Hall.     November.      The Band gave a performance titled Music for Remembrance, with proceeds going to the RBL Poppy Appeal.       The Shoebox Appeal was held, with the congregation giving generously.To help with the current energy crisis, and as part of a CTIF initiative, the Hall was opened on Tuesdays to provide a warm space and a cuppa.    December.      Friends Together held their Christmas meal.      The Band took part in Radio Suffolk’s Christmas Roadshow on the Triangle.       We welcomed back the Christmas Tree Festival after a three-year absence, with many regulars returning. There were 36 trees on show and an estimated 1,000 visitors.      The Band and Songsters undertook various carolling commitments throughout the month.      A carol concert, Music for Christmas, was held in conjunction with Trimley Church, alongside our own Carol Concert.     On Christmas Day, we held a service followed by a meal for those in need of company and support.     Celebrations.      John and Anne Ranner – Blue Sapphire Anniversary (April)Doug and Glenys – Golden Anniversary (May)    Mike and Judy Scott – Golden Anniversary (April)80th Birthdays: John Ellitson (May), Bob Versey (April).      Adherents Enrolled as Adherents in June:  June Healey  David Doy David Dowse.     Appointments / Recognition  Doug Askew was officially commissioned as Corps Press Representative (November).    CSM John Ellitson received a letter of appreciation from the Divisional Commander, marking 20 years of service as CSM.    Promotion to Glory:    Ellie Salmon (January)    John Cates (January)Anne Ranner (December)
